Today I'm going to walk you through how I finished up organizing our laundry room and point out a couple of little tips that I have for anyone else trying to get organized. These tips applied to any area in your house.
Not just a one day project!
A few weekends ago, I took the time to finish an organization project I had taken on our laundry room thinking, oh, this would be a good day project…Nope! It took me a long time and had to leave it half done for a long time because I didn't have time to finish it. So don't get frustrated if it takes longer than planned. 😀
A mini garage? Oh no!
Our laundry room had seriously turned into a problem spot for us. It has kind of become like a mini garage. Things that we weren't taking the time actually to put in the garage came into the laundry room so our counters were covered and nothing made sense in here. Everything was kind of in odd places and not really where it needed to be. My cabinets were in order because I had already taken the time with my last attempt to get it all organized. I got it into bins and put things where they belonged. So that part felt good. So it was actually the opposite of what normally happens. The inside of the cupboards was fabulous. It was the outside and there were a few drawers and things I didn't have time to get to. So after emptying my drawers and trays, I set out this to categorize.
Now the main thing I want to point out is that to me organization about creating efficiency in your home.Click To Tweet
Categorizing is very important in the organizational process, and I actually go into depth in that in my new book, M.O.M.=Master Organizer of Mayhem. In fact, a lot of the things that I mention here and on my blog are all in the book coming out September 3rd. I am so excited! It's so fun and I can't wait for you to read the book! But back to the laundry room…
In this video, you will see the little hacks and tips from start to finish. I talk about what I think about Marie Kondo and how it applies to busy moms, you will see my crazy collection of tools, and a cool laundry basket storage idea. So watch now!
