4 Tips to Help You Get More Done!

As a mom of five, I’m always asked, “How do you get it all done?” I’m always struck with the urge to say something highly sarcastic for shock value like, “Well, Martha Stewart is my mother-in-law” or “It just kind of comes naturally to me.” I usually just laugh and re-affirm the sweet mom asking that I don’t.
That’s the truth! I don’t! I don’t even try to “get it all done!” The best juggler in the world couldn't manage to keep all the “balls” I have on my plate in the air. So, my trick—my “juggling” secret—is to juggle fewer balls.
You have to pick! You have to chose wisely. You have to set some balls down.
Often at the start of our homeschool year we have these “Stepford-Homeschool-Mom” visions of all we will accomplish the next year. The amazing field trips we’ll take, the gorgeous history notebooks we’ll create, the beautiful schedule we spent all summer working on that will get “check marks” as things get completed on time—and don’t forget, the wonderful time cuddled together on the couch reading from a classic book while the toddlers play quietly at our feet.
Then “BAM!”—the first week of homeschooling comes and we are left at the end of the week wondering why we ever thought it was possible to homeschool. It’s like Monday morning we are June Cleaver, and by Friday we are Lucille Ball….KEEP READING!
