Nothing Bundt Cake! — Spice Cake!

*This is great for entertaining as a dessert or a decadent brunch treat!


  • Cake:
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 3 oz box vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 2 t cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c white wine
  • 3/4 c vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c water
  • Glaze (which is invisible):
  • Boil for 23 minutes:
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/4 c white wine
  • 1/2 c sugar


  1. Mix together, then bake in bundt (buttered) at 325 for 1 hour.
  2. Prepare glaze as cake bakes
  3. Pour glaze slowly over cake while still hot in the pan. Let stand a little while to absorb, then turn upside down onto a cake plate.


Since we don’t really drink wine, I buy the little bottles that come in a four pack. They are the perfect amount for this recipe. If there is a pinch more wine left over, I just throw it in the glaze mix with a little extra butter and sugar. The more glaze the yummier.

& just as a reminder, the alcohol burns off while baking and while cooking on the stove top. So, you are left only with a unique flavor within the cake.
