I get a little giddy around this time of year. It’s like one long season of celebrating. There are so many fun things to do during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. We have quite a list of fun traditions that take place during the months of November and December. However, one of my favorite things about celebrating the holidays is bringing my house to life by decorating. I love heading out to the garage and hauling out my holiday bins full of all the decorations and holiday books that I’ve been collecting for over 20 years.
However, these months can also be budget breaking months if I’m not careful. I love walking into stores and discovering new, beautiful items that I’d love to add to my collection. As much as I love celebrating and making the most of this time of year, I also want to be a wise steward with our money. My husband and I really try to be honoring to the Lord with all that we do with our income. Decorating is important to me to add beauty to my home, however, I’ve learned to temper my creative outlet with discipline. Over the years, I’ve found some great ways to savor this wonderful season without blowing my budget.
And fun little side note—I also announce my new meal planning course that comes out at the end of the month—along with a free holiday meal planner. You can check it out HERE, if you are interested in learning more. I’m also being interviewed live on Costco’s Facebook page on Nov. 30th to talk about it. Yay!
