Welcome to my Sanity Savers for Moms: Simple Solutions for a More Joy-filled Life Resource post. I had so many great books to share with you I didn't want to bombard you with all of them inside my book. I love books! I put a bookshelf up on any wall in the house that will fit one. If you are finding this post and don't have your FREE GIFT — My Sanity Savers for Moms book — I'd love to get a copy in your hands. Sign up HERE or scroll down to the bottom of this page to snag a copy. This post is designed to share all of my favorite books, products, blog posts, podcast episodes, and more that I didn't squeeze into the book.
Just so you know, I am in the process of creating a Sanity Savers for Moms Boot Camp! I'm recording videos to go along with each chapter of Sanity Savers for Moms — plus I've already created some pretty amazing PDFs that I like to call "Sanity Planners". Doesn't planning for sanity sound like a great strategy for your mom life? All of these PDFs are new and improved if you have older versions. Be sure to get on the waitlist for this one-of-a-kind boot camp HERE.
You don't have to wait for the boot camp to start making lasting changes in your mom life, I'd love to help you now and be your M.O.M. Mentor! Every mom needs a mentor. Think of me as your Titus 2 mom friend. Here to encourage you in your mom life. Look, since I started my little online journey a lot has changed. We've graduated and launched our two oldest sons. We still have three at home, so I'm still in the throes of mom life...but have a heart to encourage other moms along the way. I've created a very special Simply Joyful M.O.M. Membership just for YOU! We literally bring my Sanity Savers for Moms and M.O.M.=Master Organizer of Mayhem books to life and put them into practice. Learn more about it HERE.

BLOG POSTS + PODCAST EPISODES:
- I'll be linking my blog posts and podcast episodes on this topic soon.
OTHER NECESSITIES:
- COFFEE! Coffee is a must for busy moms. Don't laugh, but I even designed a coffee nook with a pot filler in my new kitchen. Why waste time walking all the way to the sink to fill up my coffee machine? It's my favorite thing about my new kitchen! Believe it or not, I have a Keurig machine — and a Nespresso machine! Keurig is for everyone else. The Nespresso is for me! Here are the other items that make for a wonderful coffee nook.
- Dyson Cordless Vacuum! This is my favorite homemaking tool!! I use this vacuum as a broom EVERY DAY! My kids think it's fun to clean the floors. I highly recommend getting this one or something similar to simplify keeping your floors clean.
- Roomba is another handy-dandy vacuum to have on hand.

Books & Apps for "Keeping Your Knees Dirty":
BIBLE STUDIES + APPS:
- BSF: Bible Study Fellowship is by far the most incredible Bible study program there is. This in-depth Bible study is an international program that my family has been a part of for decades! You can find a local program here.
- YouVerse Bible app: This is my favorite Bible app. They have easy reading plans, but I mostly use it for Bible reading. It makes looking up multiple versions of a verse easy by highlighting the verse and clicking "compare".
- Enduring Word app: David Guzik is my favorite commentary writer. This is his easy-to-use app. I love that he includes so many other commentators in his commentaries.
- Bible Gateway: I use this website to look up verses constantly. Whether I'm copying and pasting verses or trying to remember the "address" of a verse I'm trying to find, I love it.
- Not Consumed: My friend Kim has an incredible gift for crediting Bible studies for families. My daughter, Ashlyn, who is currently 12, LOVES these studies. Be sure to check them out here.
Marriage Books & More:
- The Relationship Resource: This is the ministry that my husband and I are a part of. We've gone through Men's Skills and Women's Skills — and it's honestly changed our lives! Now we both facilitate classes locally. This discipleship program helps you get to the root of old pain and learn how to use Scripture properly to attack the lies at the root. Again, life changing! They host an annual marriage retreat. Would love to meet you there!
- Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy? by Gary Thomas — This is probably the best subtitle ever for marriage!
- Red Hot Monogamy: Making Your Marriage Sizzle by Bill and Pam Farrel
- Men Are Like Waffles and Women are Like Spaghetti: Understanding and Delighting in Your Differences by Bill and Pam Farrel
- Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage DVD set by Mark Gungor — We loved this at-home marriage class. It was true to its name—we laughed a lot!
- The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts by Gary Chapman
- Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs by Emerson Eggerichs
- The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work by John Gottman — Not a Christian book, but one of the best books out there on marriage.
- Family Life! Check out their Simply Romantic Nights kit HERE.
- The Adventure Challenge Couple's Edition — This is a fun date night book. They have several versions. We have the family edition and this one. They do have an "...in Bed" one that I have not purchased.
Crock Pot & Freezer Books & More!
KITCHEN TOOLS I LOVE:
- A Large Crockpot: Here's my favorite crockpot.
- Instant Pot: I'm slowly learning how to appreciate my Instant Pot.
- Air Fryer: Another kitchen tool that I'm using more and more. I have a whole chicken recipe I need to share on here that makes my air fryer a must.
- Ziplock stands: These are must-haves for prepping your freezer meals. I set up several as I'm creating my freezer meals during prep. I also use them when dividing up raw meat that I've purchased (I put the stands on a scale so I can divide the meat by weight for recipes).
- Souper Cubes: These are my favorite freezer companions. I use these for freezing bone broth into 1-cup cubes. I just discovered these 2 cup soupers, too.
RECIPES:
- My Recipe Box has my recipes listed by category, just like a recipe box. All my favorite kitchen tools and cookbooks are listed on this page!
- Check out all my recipe posts HERE. I am trying to get more moved over and re-formatted from my old site...and of course, I will be adding more.

PINTEREST BOARDS:
COOKBOOKS:
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks―Super Easy!: 120 Shortcut Recipes for Dinners, Desserts, and More — I love Ree's cookbooks. I will say that she doesn't juice lemons like I do, she squeezes them. So, be careful of "over lemon-ing" your recipes.
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime - Comfort Classics, Freezer Food, 16-minute Meals, and Other Delicious Ways to Solve Supper
- Magnolia Table, Volume 2: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering — have to include my imaginary buddy, Jo! I do not know how she is so good at everything. But her recipes really are amazing.
- Joy of Cooking: 2019 Edition — This recipe book is an updated version of one of the original, first-ever cookbooks (from 1931). I have the 1974 edition that includes recipes on how to cook game. It includes how to skin a squirrel. So, if we're in an emergency and have to resort to eating wild game, I'm ready.
- The Complete Cooking Light Cookbook — This is an oldie, but a goodie. I think this is the first recipe book I purchased.
- Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook — Another updated classic cookbook.
- Half Baked Harvest Super Simple: More Than 125 Recipes for Instant, Overnight, Meal-Prepped, and Easy Comfort Foods: A Cookbook — I absolutely love Tieghan's recipes. They are so unique and delicious. I will say that they aren't always "simple" if you have her other cookbooks. But this one is great.
- From Freezer to Cooker: Delicious Whole-Foods Meals for the Slow Cooker, Pressure Cooker, and Instant Pot: A Cookbook — Great ideas in this cookbook.
Fun & Traditions Books & More!
- The Adventure Challenge Family Edition: This is a new favorite. Full of 50 fun family adventures.
- Family Night Tool Chest Series by Heritage Builders & Focus on the Family: Introduction to Family Night Tool Chest, Basic Christian Beliefs, Ten Commandments Family Night Tool Chest, Holidays Family Night Tool Chest--& several more! These books are my absolute favorite books for planning out family fun nights with a biblical theme. I love them! (Most of them are so old that they are only a few cents on Amazon.)
- Hide It in Your Heart: Creative Ways for Families to Explore God's Word by Gloria Gaither & Shirley Dobson
- Creating Family Traditions: Making Memories in Festive Seasons by Gloria Gaither & Shirley Dobson
- 50 Nights of Family Fun by Mark Whitlock (this is another old book, but full of fun ideas)
OTHER FUN "TOOLS":
- Ice Cream Machine — This Ninja Ice Cream Maker is my new absolute favorite ice cream maker. It saves so much freezer space and you can make several flavors at once. The key is that you make your ice cream recipe and freeze it in their special containers. This means you're only freezing the small containers. Then pull them out and make ice cream as you need it. You can make several recipes in advance. I love it! The machine comes with a few freezer containers, but I recommend getting more. You'll thank me for that tip.
